Flare Gas Recovery

Kaltech’s Modular Flare Gas Recovery Unit (FGRU) is a skid-mounted, field-deployable system that captures associated gas at the wellhead – gas that would otherwise be burned off at the flare stack – and converts it into two commercially valuable product streams: conditioned fuel gas and natural gas liquids (NGLs).

The unit intercepts gas upstream of the flare, compresses and dehydrates it, then chills it to condense out propane, butane, and condensate. The remaining lean gas can fuel on-site power generation, replace diesel consumption, or be injected into a sales gas pipeline, while the recovered NGLs can be trucked to market or injected into an oil export line.

The FGRU is available in three capacity tiers, from single-wellsite volumes to full field-scale capture, so operators can start small and expand without replacing existing equipment.

The advantages of a modular Flare Gas Recovery Unit are:

  • Recovers hydrocarbon value that would otherwise be destroyed by flaring, while cutting emissions and meeting ESG requirements.
  • Self-contained and transportable by standard flatbed truck – no pipeline or major civil construction required.
  • Operational within weeks of delivery.
  • Produces two saleable outputs: conditioned gas for power or fuel use, and NGLs for pipeline injection or truck transport.
  • Fully engineered, factory-tested, and supplied complete with PLC controls, safety systems, and full documentation.
